Employees reunite a family and their dog!
The week before Christmas, the Big Spring branch staff noticed a dog wandering around outside, looking lost. They coaxed him into the branch and gave him a treat. Jeremy Duran and Tim Jakel noticed the name “Cody” on his tags. After much detective work, several phone calls and the help of a veterinarian, they found the owners who happened to be out of town for the Christmas holiday. At the request of the family, Jeremy took Cody to his vet for safe keeping until the family returned. Once they got back from vacation, the entire family came to the Big Spring branch to thank the staff for rescuing “Cody”, their family pet of seven years! What a great Christmas gift! |

How Cesar Tarin and My Community FCU helped me turn my lemon into lemonade:
In April 2007, I came to My Community with a request to borrow the funds necessary to fix the transmission on a car that I had just purchased. When I bought the car, I certainly did not expect to be borrowing again to get it into running condition. I had problems with the car from the moment I bought it. I shared my story with the branch manager, Cesar Tarin, in an effort to explain why I needed this loan so desperately at the time. This car was my only form of transportation. Cesar listened to my story and then suggested I contact the dealer to inform him of the issues I had with the car and to see if I could bring this obvious ‘lemon’ back to the dealership and rescind the loan. I was able to drop the car back off with the dealership. Cesar then helped me buy another vehicle that was more affordable and worked! This was four and a half years ago and I am four payments away from paying the car off. I am so grateful to Cesar and My Community for their guidance and support in a time when I truly needed it.

MCFCU, What's your emergency?: A member called in from out of town requesting a personal loan for a family emergency. Loan Officer Letty Moreno needed additional documents to complete the loan. During her lunch break she met one of their family members at the members home to pick up the necessary documents and the loan was funded that day! The member was very appreciative. |
